AIS26, coordinated by University College Dublin and Taighde Éireann-Research Ireland, brings together scientists, industry leaders, investors and policymakers to explore the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on scientific discovery — and how Europe can drive this transformation with a distinctive and responsible approach.
The 'Developing AI for Creativity and Society' track at the AI in Science Summit 2026 - curated by EASSH - will explore the multifaceted relationship between AI and SSH research across three dimensions.
- The first session on AI and Creativity will investigate the changing landscape of human-AI collaboration in creative work, interrogating ideas of authorship, provenance, intellectual property, and the value of human artistry.
- The second session, AI-Powered SSAH Research, will consider how these disciplines have been using AI for over 10 years, delivering results at an unprecedented speed and scale.
- The final session, Shaping AI Fit for a Just Society, will aim to move past the more familiar framing of SSAH as ‘ethics and integrity guardian’, and instead will look at where social scientists and humanities scholars are positioned to continue contributing to the AI development pipeline.
