OPERAS is the Research Infrastructure supporting open scholarly communication in the social sciences and humanities (SSH) in the European Research Area.

EASSH fully supports its aim of “empowering communities to influence decision-making processes” and looks forward to bringing its expertise to the table.

“We are very excited to join OPERAS. This is a strategic collaboration by two large membership organisations with a specific focus on the social sciences and humanities. EASSH intends to contribute to the Advocacy Special Interest Group by sharing its proven expertise in science policy advocacy.” (Gabi Lombardo, EASSH Director)

EASSH contributes to the Advocacy Special Interest Group, whose primary goals are to advocate for open scholarly communication in the social sciences and humanities. 

About OPERAS

OPERAS is the Research Infrastructure supporting open scholarly communication in the social sciences and humanities (SSH) in the European Research Area. 

Its mission is to coordinate and federate resources in Europe to efficiently address the scholarly communication needs of European researchers in the field of SSH. 

OPERAS’ aim is to make Open Science a reality for research in the SSH and achieve a scholarly communication system where knowledge produced in the SSH benefits researchers, academics, students and more generally the whole society across Europe and worldwide, without barriers.
